Overview
The South Dakota Department of Health is excited to release the 2025-2026 WorkWell Grant. All South Dakota businesses are eligible to apply! This is an opportunity for your worksite to send a positive, supportive message and promote healthy lifestyles by preventing, reducing, and managing chronic disease through worksite environment and policy change.
Important Dates
Grant Release: February 3, 2025
Application Deadline: On or before February 28, 2025 by 5:00 pm CT
Grant Selection: April 2025
Grant Year Period: June 1, 2025—May 31, 2026
Grant Award
Up to $2,000 per worksite

Eligibility Criteria: A menu of interventions is listed in the application.
- Diabetes
- Healthier Foods and Beverages at Meetings and Presentations
- Healthier Vending & Snack Bar
- Breastfeeding Support
- Workplace Physical Activity
- Tobacco-Free Business
- Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention
- Mental health training
Funding must be used to implement one or more interventions from this menu. Eligible projects will be awarded up to $2,000. Worksites starting a wellness program or expanding a current program are eligible to apply. To view the full WorkWell grant description and access the application visit healthysd.gov.
We encourage you to explore the Model Policies that have been developed by the Chronic Disease Partners Workgroup to help you make positive changes in your worksite. Each one is evidence-based and can be adapted to fit your worksite’s specific needs.
